1.

How do I know when it's time to replace my tyres?

Look for indicators like low tread depth, or cracks and bulges to the tyre rubber.

2.

How often should I check my tyre pressure?

Generally, checking once a month is suitable to maintain your tyre pressure.

3.

Can I mix different types of tyres on my vehicle?

It’s best to have the same four tyres (same size, brand, tyre pattern) on all wheels.

4.

How long do tyres typically last?

The average tyre lasts around 40,000km.

5.

What is the best way to extend the lifespan of my tyres?

Ensuring your tyres are at the right pressure, aligned and balanced can help to keep them long lasting. Driving smoothly can also help extend the lifespan of tyres.

6.

How do I choose the right tyre size for my vehicle?

You can usually find the car manufacturer’s tyre information in the glove box, under the bonnet, in the fuel cap or on the drivers door. If you’re not sure which size is right for your car, contact our friendly team today.

7.

How do I check the tread depth on my tyres?

You can check the tread wear indicators, built into the grooves of your tyre. If the tread has reached a ‘worn’ level, your tyre needs replacing. If you’re not sure, visit Tyre Shop Waiuku and a member of our team can check for you.

8.

Can I repair a punctured tyre, or do I need to replace it?

It depends on where the damage is on the tyre, as well as how bad the damage is. Our team can assess this for you. Contact us today.

9.

How do I know if my tyres need an alignment?

A common way to tell if you need a tyre alignment is if the car is pulling to one side of the road while steering. If you’ve noticed a change in the way your car is steering, get in touch with our team.
